I know exactly what you might be thinking: Why is a guy from Knox County writing an op-ed about a District 27 election in Hamilton County? It’s a fair question. I am writing to you because, as an outsider looking in, I need you to recognize the caliber of the representative you currently have.

Rep. Reneau is a threat to the political machine because she is a fiercely independent thinker. She helped me pass the Shield Act (HB 2243) to protect pediatricians and patients from predatory insurance practices.

She is the first one in the building every morning and the last one to leave every evening. She is the hardest-working representative in the State House.
